you don't see or hear of iraqi helicopter pilots, or tank crews. their soldiers rely on their rifle. why do they go into battle with no ammo? why does this happen all the time? why does your media refuse to ask the most fundamental question? how many bullets do we give iraqi soldiers? if the answer is ZERO, we all instantly realize why its so tough to get them to step up.

I'm pretty certain we don't give them any bullets. There are AK-47's and ammo for them everywhere. So having to supply Iraqi troops with ammo doesn't make sense. AK-47 ammo and M-16 ammo are NOT interchangeable. And how do you know they are going into battle without ammo? Are you sure you aren't watching some training footage?

It depends on how they use it. 600 rounds for an AK-47 weighs a lot, yet in automatic mode that's only 2 minutes worth of ammo. They love to spray and pray. Sometimes they will spray straight into the air. To the Iraqis, they have 2 minutes of ammo, and to the Americans, that ammo could last for a couple of hours. If the Iraqi soldiers were given M-1s instead of AK-47s, there ammo supply would last longer.

Iraqi soldiers? Remember, these are men with families who were living in a stable dictatorship peacefully.

Then the Freedom loving hallucinators rode into town and brought hell and now they want those fathers/sons/brothers to bears arms to defend against an enemy they created?

BULL ****!

Their Army is being fully funded and their soldiers fully equipped...it's not our fault they don't show up for training, formation, etc... that is why it's so hard to get them to step up! But at least the Iraqi Army isn't as corrupt as their Police Force.

I hear your plea! I pray for you! .... it's like fighting a war with sticks and stones against helicopters and tanks, ouch, i'd certainly think i'd be the underdog with my sticks and stones, had you warned me, maybe i could've prepared for this onslaught and made those damn "Nuclear Weapons" and destroyed you all, we had the money, the oil, we had our disputes yet we settled it among ourselves without interferrence and all of a sudden puff puff, here comes the American's.

Its not that, Its that their thinking the US is going to be there to do all the work for them forever. I say we pull out and make em do it themselves like America had to. They already have better incredibly better odds against the Insurgetns than the Colonist against the Brits.

Zero, I hear that most really don't want to defend themselves or their country as a whole.

Please recognize the subtle distinction between a national "police force" and a national "army".
