I was driving to work on the freeway when up ahead I notice four "Gold Tours" buses being protected by police. What was the need of having to be protected by police? Or was the police after the buses because it had illegal imigrants. Maybe rich people. Who knows. Would you guys have any idea?

As a community service, most police departments allow people and organizations to hire police officers for traffic security - you see them a lot escorting funerals. the police officers like it because they get extra pay. the PD likes it because they have extra officers visible on the streets -
You could hire police to escort your limo to a wedding or prom if the officers are available and it complies with the PD regs.
