Which one do you prefer?

I'm partial to Macintosh. I've owned both, and found that the availability of software is still the limiting factor in the choice. If you download a lot of stuff from the internet, then Windows is the way to go, since virtually nothing is available on the net for the Mac. However, if you want to do word processing, spreadsheets, or most especially art (the Mac wins hands-down for any art related things; drawing, photo editing, video making, etc.), as well as simple browsing of the web, then I'd go with the Mac. It's got a much easier to use interface, more intuitive operating, and is more fun than a PC. (Did you know that Bill Gates stole the idea for Windows from Mac? Steve Jobs was giving him a tour through the plant back in the early 80's, and proudly boasted of the icon-based operating system. That gave BG the idea; he took it and tweaked it, and came up with Windows.) I still prefer the Macintosh overall, however. I'm using Windows XP right now, but my next computer will be going back to the Mac.

Lucee has a good point. Also because PCs are made by more than one company there's more competition with the price. Not the case with Mac. However, Macs are more reliable and now that they have intel chips they can run both Mac and Windows.

Watch those funny little ads on apple.com

They accually do help! Well......for mac.

It depends cause if you want more fun & play & creativity mos def. Mac.

But then if you want the business & games...Windows is for you.

But then you can have Mac and put Windows on it (they have that now) or vise versa (You can buy a mini mac and switch between windows and mac when u need to)

what do you want to do? Graphics and things like that? Get a Mac. It has less tendency to have viruses, because the viruses, trojans and spyware are all written for Windows. 80% of the current software works on Windows, not on Macs. take your choice

Option C

Buy a PC and put Linux on it - Ubuntu is really easy to use. They'll even mail you the CD's to try!
Reboot your computer with it, and it'll load Linux into your computer's ram - you can try Ubuntu without installing it anywhere!

Let me put it this way - my mom's a senior and can use Ubuntu.

There's a huge world of free software out there that's as good or better than the stuff you can buy in the store for Windows.

If you're into gaming - dual boot with Windows. *shrugs*
