That’s what I cannot stand about people who debate religion, how everyone thinks that they know everything. There’s all this yelling and no listening. No one wants to learn or grow; they just want to prove someone else wrong. Disgusting.

Where’s the tolerance that all of their religions preach?

Truly, I too am aware of what you are saying. People are very attached to their beliefs, whether they be right or wrong. It is odd to think of so much noise, but no one talks about how they have begun to eradicate sin, sickness, and death from their consciousness. One man said that he would show his faith by works, and it is too bad that today this is not even close to being discussed as even a possibility, let alone a fact that we need to understand.
The intolerance here is another weed in the garden, and we all should understand the necessity for uprooting it.

I think religion can be discussed properly, without putting on the gloves so to speak. If someone is shoving their religion down someone elses throat, what is the chances of someone respecting or even thinking about that religion. I am a Christian and have learned many things about other religions. Christianity doesn't give way to tolerance. Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life, NO ONE comes to the Father but through Me.

As a former Christian, I formerly listened to only Christian topics. One day I decided that Christianity should be able to stand up to scrutiny. So I began to listen, with an open mind, to what atheists had to say and why they say it.

St. Paul said to "test all things." (1st Thessalonians 5:21.) So I did.

For each point I made regarding why I believe, they proved me wrong or otherwise neutralized my position. Now I do not follow Christianity anymore.

Now I realize that Christianity cannot be truth, so I will not waste my time listening to their arguments.

Many people think that all they know is all there is to know.
For them life is a series of conflict because they were influenced at a very young age by similar natures in their upbringing.
To think otherwise is to completely destroy their fabric of individuality and to accept that they are less important than they want others to think.
Usually the fear of being wrong spurs one to extreme lengths to defend their position and in doing so they are able to further cement their righteousness without a single consideration for logic or reason

Hello Rachael,

Well! I think the point christian are trying to make is that there are evidence that Jesus is the son of God, and that there are evidence of his existing. Christian are telling people who believe in other Gods that they should have proof and evidence of there Gods existing. That is the debate.

Its not about who's right or wrong. Its about evidence and existing, can you prove it. Christian believe it has been proven and why can't others see that already, what will it take for them. I agree lets stop the yelling and scream produce evidence. God Bless You

Tolerance that WHICH religions preach?
Monotheistic religions don't preach tolerance (with the exception of Judaism, which asserts that you don't have to convert to theirs to be a righteous person).
Paganism teaches tolerance, Spiritualism does also.
Atheism is not a religion, but they are pretty tolerant of those who have at least educated themselves instead of just going with the crowd.
Can you be more specific as to which religions you refer?

I need a bit more clarification.

Those who refuse to listen to the opposite point of view are not sure of themselves and can't defend what they believe in .

I am not religious to extend.I never try to make someone see things my way unless we are discussing it. I hate when people try to push a religion on me

Actually, my religion is purposefully wrong, which pretty much forces me to learn about others. That's why I like it.
