Okay I'm also a JW. I don't go to the kingdom hall anymore or anything but I'm not disfellowshipped....just inactive I guess. I actually think JW's are good people but I was just wondering. When people ask you guys a simple question on here say for instance..........Do JW's believe in Jesus? Why do you guys go on with this long drawn out answer instead of simply answering the question. I can understand quoting a scripture(nothing wrong with that) but really do you have to quote 7 or 8 of them. Don't you think it's turns people off from the religion even more. It makes it seem like you guys are psycho's are something(which I know you are not) but I just think it would be better to just simply answer the question Just wanted to know your opinions

Obviously, I can't answer for anyone else, but I think I tend to say maybe a little too much. I see SO many posts by people who think they know about us. They say we are a cult. They say our bible is twisted and fake and so on. I quote more than one scripture because I want anyone with an open heart to see that I follow the WHOLE Bible, and that it doesn't matter the version or translation, because the same point comes across.

I suppose you are right. That could rub some the wrong way, which is not my intent. I will take the point to heart and try to shorten some of my answers in the future.

Thanks!!

Hi. First I am a bit confused. You say you are a Witness then refer to Witnesses as you guys.

In answer to your question not everyone answers the same way. I know that a quite a few on here who answer either claiming to be witnesses or to be answering for Witnesses are not. Still they feel for some reason they gotta say they are. It seems to be mostly these ones who answer with the long drawn out and sometimes totally wrong answers.

Was that short enough :)

Personally, I try to keep my answers short and sweet. (Where possible.) I don't post entire articles for an answer because I know the asker won't read the whole thing. But, if it's a tricky subject, it might take more than a couple of quoted scriptures to provide an adequate answer. I always try to include scriptures in my answers so that others will see that I'm not just stating my own opinion, but that I'm actually going by what the Bible says. Still, I try to use common sense and tactfullness when answering in a more lengthy manner. Hope I've helped.

I do agree to some point, you don't need a whole page of scriptures, because most likely someone will get bored and not finishing reading most of it. But for those who are really searching for what the bible says and were to find it, they will appreciate the gesture.

We want our answers to come from the bible, so everyone can look up the scripture in their own bible and come to their own conclusion.

It's not only Jehovah's Witnesses that have long answers with a lot of scriptures.

Hebrew 4:12: "For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and [their] marrow, and [is] able to discern thoughts and intentions of [the] heart."

You never know what verses might touch that one rightly disposed sheep who is truly looking for answers. Sometimes there are just so many
Scriptures to use its just too hard to narrow it down. I hope that you will become active again.Draw close to God while he may still be found!

Alot depends on what the question is.

If it's a personal question,

Why don't you celebrate xmas?

vs

Why don't JW celebrate xmas?

I try to fit the answer to the question.

then 2 or more witnesses are needed to establish a fact.

Do you have idea of what you are saying? I do not think you are a witness. You do not even know what is your religious status. If somebody ask me if I am marry, it would be stupid to say that I do not know. You are saying that JW are good people but then you call them psycho's. Hey, for those of you who are JW's why do you listen to this apostate?

To a person who is focussed on a particular question, a complete answer is better than an incomplete answer.

(Colossians 4:6) Let your utterance be always with graciousness, seasoned with salt, so as to know how you ought to give an answer to each one.

You're not a Jehovah's Witness. That's obvious. You went to some meetings maybe, but your are not a witness.
