My hair is naturally dark brown. I once made the mistake of dyeing it a lighter brown w/ blonde highlights from the box color, and it came out horrible. Came out really brassy, so i had it re-dyed with highlights in the salon. It was still brassy, so I had it dyed my regular dark color a couple months ago. Now, it is back to being brassy! My hair has a red/orange undertone, and I want to get rid of it! help...

Use a shampoo called Shimmer Lights by Clairol.
It gets rid of unwanted brassiness!

try dying it a darker shade of brown without the reddish color in the brown. Try a simple shade like a tree-bark color.

I've always heard of putting an ash color in your hair. I heard that the ash draws the red out.
