My ex broke up with me a couple of weeks ago. I really like him so it's been rough trying to get past it. But it's become increasingly difficult now that he wants to be friends. We talked last night and he was mentioning that he wanted to hang out and go get coffee or go bowling next week like we used to. I told him that I was hesistant about the idea and he asked why. Then at the end of our convo he called me by the pet name that he used for me when we were going out. I called him by his name and he asked me why I didn't call him by the nickname I had for him. Huh?!? I don't want to be one of those girls he just "hangs out" with because he means so much more to me than that. I don't want to end what we have left but it's just awkward being friends with someone who knows so much about you and has seen everything...emotionally and physically...that you have to offer.

he does this with a lot of the girls he's dated in the past. they'll break up and he'll turn around 2 or 3 weeks later trying to be friends. but he doesn't see that it doesn't work like that.
he broke up with me because he said he had doubt and that our ethics are too different.

i think this guy is playing you girl!!!
you need time away from him. clear your head and then maybe you'll realise that this sort of relationship/friendship is not what you need.
personally, i dont think you can go from boyfriend to just friends.too much emotion involved.
hang out with some of your girlfriends.have some fun. there are plenty other guys out there too!!!
he cant have it both ways -girlfriend one day, best buddies the next.

move on... he's messing with your emotions and if you wannt to be just like all the ohter girls hes dated keep talking to him but theres other guys out there.... don't waste your time...
