The most profound experience was the revelation by the Spirit (with the WORD of God) of WHO I AM in Christ.
Prophet, priest,king.... amazing and humbling.

Doesn't DVD stand for Devil's Video Deception?
Personally, being offended is a simple part of being human. If you can't be offended it means that you don't believe anything. People take offense when their sense of morality is assaulted. If you don't take offense when insulted, or when someone assaults your beliefs, then your beliefs are lacking.
Jesus took offense... that's why he trashed the tables of the vendors in the temple. He was offended, and justly so.
What's wrong is when you let offense lead you into resentment. If you hold and entertain resentment, that's more of a bait into somehting malign. Resentment leads to emotional poison.
Whatever... I'm not a Christian, so my opinion probably won't matter to you, but just think of what "feelings" jesus must have had to provoke him to anger in the temple.

Hello, I Love my Dog
Well, one day about 14years ago I was talking to my grandmother on the phone, and she was telling me about how the spirit of the lord was moving in church that morning.
Well, the young man who plays the piano for the church is gay, and he loves the lord with all his heart and is very devoted. My grandmother said she wonder if he would go to heaven, because he really praises the lord with all his heart.
I said mom I don't know because I have never read it in the bible (at that time). Shortly after I got off the phone with her, her question stayed with me, and the lord revealed to me that he would not change is laws just to fit the needs of a certain group of people.
His words was plain and very clear, But yet it sound like it was far. I was shock. Never in a million years did I ever thank that I would here the lords voice. I will never forget it.

The most life-changing event for me was the day I received my endowment in the Holy Temple and was sealed to my husband for time and all eternity. What a blessing it is that God loves us so much that he has allowed a way for families to be together in the eternities!
What you said reminds me of a series of books my sister has read...they're LDS fiction books based on spirits in the pre-existance and their journey through life. It shows how even little things can be influences of Satan - like "maybe I should go check on my kids playing" and then you don't...just little things. That is how he starts though, it's like the old saying of you can't cook a frog by throwing him in boiling water,he'll jump out... but put him in cold water and slowly turn the heat up and he'll cook.
That might sound weird, but that's how it is. Satan starts with small things and just works his way in any way he can. That is why it is so important to have the influence of the Holy Ghost, for he will never lead us astray.

I was going to beat up a real ignoramus many years ago.
It must have been the look in my eye because a man stopped me and asked me what was troubling me.
I told him what I was going to do.
He asked me why.
Then he said that people are the way they are for a reason.
Did I know what was going on at home for this boy ?
Yes I did ! His father was a drunken beast who beat up his wife and children a lot.
"You see' replied the stranger...' perhaps it is not his fault"
The power of awareness though delivered by a strange man was nevertheless so profound that I have carried the learning and understanding of this lesson since I was 15yrs old.

Although I am only 13, I had almost a spiritual awakening not too long ago form the Lord. I was having an almost breakdown, and suddenly I felt his presence and he gently rested his hands on my shoulders, completely numbing my ears to the outside, as if he were telling me not to worry about what other people think, and that i am a pure person with good morals and values. I never once had another breakdown. It definalety changed my life.

St. Paul said to "test all things." (1st Thessalonians 5:21.) So I did. I realized that as a Christian, I only listened to sources that confirmed my beliefs. I had a discussion with atheists regarding what I believe and why I believe it, and for each point, they proved me wrong or otherwise neutralized my position. Now I do not follow Christianity anymore.

God revealed that to me as well, in The Truth of my Salvation... nothing will ever be as "profound" as the moment of my Salvation... in this mortal world and life at least.

The coolest thing He ever revealed to me was, all the things that I care about or want to achieve on Earth don't matter. I would like to be valedictorian of my class, but, God showed me that in Heaven, nobody will know or care if I was. And Heaven lasts longer than earth!

There are several instances where it could be interpreted to be what you're implying. But I don't know--will have to go back and re-examine. In any case, I didn't change for neither the worse or better. *shrug*
