You can take one of 3 Airport Express buses to the center of Bangkok. AE 2, AE 3 or AE 4. AE 2 will take you to Khaosan Road area. Exit at the last stop. There is a lot of discount shopping in the area around there. The only downside is you would have to take a taxi to any other place in Bangkok.

AE 3 will take you along the main business district or Central Business District. You could exit on stop number 13, World Trade Center or Central World Plaza. This is one of the largest and nicest malls. A very long block away on the elevated walkway is MBK Center or Mah Boo Khrom Center, another very large mall with a number of stores and stalls that you can find bargains.

If you take the AE 4, you could go directly to MBK center. If you are looking for souvenirs and a reasonably priced meal. This is the best place to visit. It's at Stop 8, MBK Center.

The websites for the Airport Express buses is below. Cost is 150 baht one way.

If you are looking for more "interesting" things like a massage or a beer bar this can be found all along Sukhumvit Road. Check out www.bangkoktonight.com for more info. There many of the traditional Thai massage which seems to center on the legs then back and shoulders. Cost is around 2400 baht or less for a couple hours of massage. No extras. Hahaha. Some of the other ones along the Sukhumvit may provide extras. You will have to ask. Else the advertised services are posted on the windows usually. Those start from Soi 3 on. Sukhumvit Road starts at the Nana station off the BTS Skytrain. Cost from MBK Center might about 20 baht. A massage takes from 1 hour to 3 hours depending on the place.

Take a look at the "Articles on Bangkok" number 9 and 10, One Night in Bangkok and The sights of Bangkok and Thailand. Also check on Tips and see what articles interest you. They are very current.

Have a good trip.

Thai Massage is always good.

Some simple Thai food near Kaoshan Road or in one of the
large department store's food court is good. Clean, fixed price,
and large sample. Very local.

Bangkok has a new subway or skyway train, it will take you to
most of the places others recommended. Do try to get as much
city info as possible at the airport where you exit. Very helpful
tourist desk.
