Quote from a religionist: "We just dont believe science counts the years properly."

Throughout the Bible the word days is used in reference to years
and so is the word week.

Sometimes day refers to an unspecified amount of time.

Scientists count years using 365.25 24 hour days per year.

Who counts properly again?

Ah, that would explain how 4.6 billion years became 10,000 years.

Previously I had thought it was them trying to make themselves feel younger... either that or presenile dementia.

Thank you for quoting me Im flattered...

I honestly dont think anyone can accurately count days consistantly. Neither scientists nor "religionists" And everyone, science, religion and otherwise counts years the way you say science does. But to date something X billions of years old or 6,000 years old isnt going to be accurate on either end. Scientists change the amount of years things came to be so often that its hard to use the same text books one year to the next, and it is also hard to determine timelines biblically too that date back before modern history. But for the record, Christians believe that God created things with age already in them, eg. Adam and Eve were not embryos, a Mountain was a full aged mountain and not a small dirt pile... science tries to figure out how long it would take a mountain to form from a small mound of dirt. So how can we think any of us will have an accurate guess on the date of prehistoric things?

Let's say neither. Religion is very accurate but you have to know whether your reading historical account or prophecy. The most accurate count of days and years are recorded by the Central American Maya. Those who have studied the Bible have set the age of the earth at about 5,500yrs. When the Maya Temple of the sun god was opened they found a Maya calender that verified nearly all global events in the Bible.

Since science depends on the Bible for ancient numeration, how can science be correct and the bible is wrong?
Did science create 365.25 24 hour days per year?

Be aware that scripture defines a night and a day, differently than 24 hours. This reality is especially noticeable (to me) during creation, and Christ death on the cross. During creation, there was light all seven days. However, the sun, moon, and stars were not 'created' until day 4. So, (thought) where did the light come from on day 1,2, and 3?
Further, it was 'night' by scriptural definition when Christ died on the cross about 3:00 PM.

in case you step decrease back and look on the image, it somewhat is going to become fairly elementary. What we are seeing is in basic terms the comparable worry reaction we see in bullies interior the school backyard. on the exterior, the bully sounds like he's gigantic and advantageous and has the greater useful place. however, the bully is the main terrified of all of them and needs to do away with those he's terrified of. massive drug agencies, alongside with the government and all of the regulatory companies, paintings actively to avert any tremendous cures drawing near the marketplace - no earnings it for them. Quoting the FDA is a comedian tale. Do your learn people, what share executives from the super drug agencies, take sabaticals to paintings for companies like the FDA and the CDC? This replaced into uncovered with the Swine Flu scare - lots of the executives in government, regulatory companies and pharmaceutical agencies are all in mattress mutually. verify their share portfolios. verify their purchase and sell information for agencies like Novavax and Baxter. And why has the U. S. government felt the could herald legislations that prevents the ordinary public from suing those agencies? besides, the wake-up is going on. Europe already has a reliable record in using option drugs ... and that they have got a tendency to be fit. here in Australia there are increasing numbers of docs who're now no longer blinded via the crap data being pumped out - they understand that there is a place for the two present day and option drugs. Sanity and good organic well being will prevail. As for data, i'm going to take the data of my very own reports and individuals i understand, over selective comments from drug agencies quoting outcomes from people who must be fictional for all all of us understand. regrettably, the place massive greenbacks are worried, too usually integrity is going down the drain. absolutely everyone who argues it may no longer happen is a fool.

Depends on the reason for counting. If it is for a realistic scientific purpose than science if it is a chronology of religion - than religion. Time is relative to that which is being discussed.

When doing carbon-dating scientists have been miffed because alot of times carbon-dates on the same thing are different.
So even scientists can be wrong.

He sounds like an idiot. The Bible does not specify how old the earth is. Literalists do by stringing together the years mentioned and then try to justify it with statements like that.
