yup it should b banned....well if i say that u ban something from a particular society lets say a drink or anyother thing than u can argue that someone might be using it or that thing might be of benefit to someone in that society...
but THE BIGGEST THING WHICH GOES IN FAVOUR OF BANNING CIGERATE SMOKING IS THAT IF WE BAN IT THEN WE ARE ACTUALLY NOT ONLY PREVENTING OTHERS FROM USING IT BUT ARE ALSO HELPING THE PERSONS ALREADY SMOKING BY SAVING THEIR LIVES FROM SERIOUS MEDICAL PROBLEMS SUCH AS LUNG CANCER...
and besides if i say that smoking is bad for health but its only affecting my health and not around me than i might be justified in not banning it..but we know that smoking not only destroys that persons own health but also harms the surrounding peoples health also something known as passive smoking so its best to ban it

I absolutely believe that smoking should NOT be banned.

In the US, we tried banning liquor back in the 1840's, but it didn't work because people drank anyway.

I don't think the government of a "free" country should tell what businesses can or can't do in their own establishment. In fact, I think if a business wants to claim that they are a smoking facility, then the non-smokers will know NOT to go there, and the smokers will go in droves. It would be a great money making opportunity.

I have a friend from Germany who was really ticked off because she couldn't smoke anywhere here, and she said....."I thought America was a free country".

Banned from public places....you bet. It's gross because it smells bad and why should people who don't smoke have to breathe in that nasty air. My Mom smoked for years and my Dad just recently had a heart attack. The doctor's thought for sure he was a smoker because of the state of his arteries and lungs. It was from scond hand smoke. If people want to smoke, they should do it in their homes only. It should be banned in cars too because most people throw their gross cigarettes out their car windows, which is really dangerous. A cigarette once hit my husband on his motorcycle and it was lit still.

Due to second hand smoke, I feel smoking should be banned. If they were just destroying their own life, I would say, let them smoke, but since the lives of people who don't smoke are affected by cigarette smoke, I think it should be banned. Chewing tobacco should stay legal even though it's gross.

Yes!! smoking is soo gross, and for the people that said they are "free" to do it and the government can't tell them not to, well it's harming others too. So, yes it should be banned.
