Where did you get that estimate of age? Radiocarbon dating can only go back 20,000 years. Your religion needs a new prophet, Darwin's batting a zero.

Read Gen 1:1 This earth is Millions of yrs. Old. In the beginning God made the heavens & the earth before he even put anything in it, it was void & without form, What does that tell you, This earth could have been void & without form for millions of years. Yes, I am a Christian, & one that knows how to read & study the bible, If people go to Gen 5:1 It says this is the GENERATIONS (plural) of Adam Not 24 hrs. But generations.

I must reply to the first two responders here. Firstly, there is no excuse for not believing the dates given by scientific evidence: it would be as pointless as not believing in gravity: the data is there, and is unambiguous and inescapable. Secondly, the 6000 year figure came from a reckoning by a cleric named James Ussher, who attempted to put the various chronological elements in the bible into a consistent calendar; he came up with 4004 BC as the date of creation, and 2835 BC as the date of the biblical flood. It happens that there were no less than three separate civilizations keeping written records, before, during, and after this time, and it somehow went unnoticed by any of them that they had been wiped out by a flood. (Perhaps Ussher had not heard of this.) In any event, there are hundreds of discrepancies between the biblical tales and the earth's known history, and any resemblance between them is purely coincidental.

because they don't know anything about the science so it's easy for them to say it's wrong. just like evolution; i never met an evolution opponant who actually understood how natural selection supposedly works. similarly, i doubt anyone who actually believes the earth is only 6000 years old knows a thing about the mechanics of carbon dating.

I don't have a problem with a 6-day Creation.
2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
I don't have a problem with that, either.
I do have a problem with faked "evidence" of "evolution" purported as truth.

Why don't you let Christians be?
The Bible never says how old the world is.
Why are you nagging at Christians why don't you go nag at your wife....if she haven't divorced you YET...because of your stupidity.
