I am looking for a website that explains hair extensions (not the clip ons) i.e. the process, pricing etc. I live near Edinburgh so if anyone can recommend a good salon/website that'd also be great. The explainng part need not be UK exclusive of course! Thanks

this site is really good and should tell you everything you need to know, whether your hair is suitable, the types of hair they do and it also has a salon finder to find the nearest salon to u

First call your local hair salons- most carry extensions.
2- If you want them for a certain look/ or cheaper price then go what is called plastic. The plastic is like doll hair - I do not recommend this kind but it is cheaper.
3- there are real hair extensions- can be washed, styled, heated, and many more things that plastic can not- so you can go for a different look everyday. They are a tad more expensive but worth it.
Generally the extensions start at $20.00 a layer and last about 4-8 weeks.

I was also looking for this information and I live in Edinburgh. I was advised to go to A+A Studios at Cannonmills. I looked them up and their prices are very reasonable. They give you a consultation and match your hair colour for you. I haven't been yet but I am planning to. Maybe see you there xx
