any suggestions to utilize and dress up a small one bedroom apartment?

my bf and i have lived here 4 years, and i would love to spruce up my apartment for cheap..my taste is kinda bohemiain and retro..

Paint is the best way to change the feel of a place. A good fairly cheap idea is to go and get some canvases at a craft store and some paint and spend the weekend playing around with the stuff and you would be surprised at what you end up with. Plus if you get naked and paint eachother and then rub yourselves on the canvas or even have sex on the canvas then your art work will not only look great but it will have special memories.

visit your local thrift stores and salvation army. there you can get retro/bohemian bedclothes, curtains, knickknacks, weird little tables, etc. if you have a dining room table, get 4 totally different and unique chairs to go 'round it.
pick a color (or two) and buy things that color that are different patterns and textures (say you choose brown, get brown checked throw pillows, brown striped rug, brown glazed plant holder, etc.)
if you have a gabriel brothers store or tj maxx near you those are great places to look, too.

GET YOURSELF TO YOUR LOCAL TIP OR BOOT SALE, BUY ODD BITS OF FURNITURE IF IT COMES TO IT, GET SOME PAINTS AND GO FOR IT. AFTER YOU PUT YOUR BASE COLOUR ON TRY A LIGHTER SHADE OR MATCHING SHADE ON TOP BUT DONT LET IT DRY, GET A LINT FREE CLOTH AND GENTLY WIPE OFF, GO SECOND HAND SHOPS & BUY OLD BED SHEETS, WASH THEM, DYE THEM THEN GET A DRAWING PINTO HOLD IT ABOVE A WINDOW SAY THEN GET A FEW ELESTIC BANDS & PULL A BIT OF SHEET THROUGH SO IT LOOKS LIKE A BIG BUD, OR PULL IT ABOUT TILL YOU LIKE IT, £17 MY SITTING ROOM COST ME & EVERYONE LOVES IT, GREAT BUZZ TO
