You don't NEED a special pot for steaming - you can get an insert that sits in the bottom of a stockpot. It will elevate your veggies above the water, and the will steam rather than boil.

Recipes? It's more of a timing thing - so many vegetables for so many minutes. I have a steamer that has a chart printed on the side. It's helpful.

You can find lots of steam cooking recipes online. You don't need a special pot. You can get a steamer basket for as little as $5 or as much as $100. Or, you can buy a steamer or rice cooker (small appliances).

just take a foil or aluminum pie pan and poke a bunch of small holes in it then placeit over a pot of boiling water. add your veggies and cover for a few mins. just until your veggies geat a little brighter in color but not mushy.

u need to be able to elevate the veggies from the boiling water, hence "steamed". and as far as recipes go, they are just veggies, u will know when they are tender enough for u.

Heck no. You can even place veggies in a microwave safe dish and add a little water and steam them that way.
