Yes. Its human nature to do this, even if the person we are comparing to treated you badly. I did this with my husband and my ex boyfriend. Expected the worst out of my husband because thats what I got from my ex. Now that my husband has passed, when I do find someone else, its going to be a problem, because i'll automatically expect to be treated like a queen. Its a vicious thing. You'll eventually quit doing it, but it takes time. Just one of those psychological things.

If your the comparing type the answer is yes and you'll compare until you can accept the person your with has good points and bad points like the last one you were in love with. As time goes on you'll stop and figure out what your looking for and the compareing to will begin to ttake on a comparing to 'what I want and makes me happy'. Hope this helps but what your going through is normal and will pass with time just make sure you dont make these comparing statements in front of or to the one your with, they throw mixed signals and can be hurtful and insulting. We want to be liked for who we are and not for who we are not.

Yeah, can't imagine a person who wouldn't. Theres nothing wrong with comparing lightheartedly, but if it turns into longing for the current love to be like the old love then there's a problem. Also its not good to dwell on the past.

Yes we do - it's natural. But if you really love the person you're with then you can find a way to change your whole experience mentally and physically then it won't even matter what your first love did. If you do it well enough you may even forget the first one. LOL

Yes. And women always bring the psychological damage the ex created into the new relationship and make the mans life a living hell.

Of course. You have your idea of what everything should be like from what you experienced with that other person, so its only natural to put everything up to that standard.

I don't think so. There are so many different degrees and kinds of love , that each love is different and special in its own way.
