I think that kids these days go a lot of places for bday parties, but what they would value more is if an adult planned party games and had cool snacks and smiled a lot and was just really, really fun. Kids are so hungry for adult attention that they 'might' really relish just coming to your house to play games. If you want some game ideas post another question with the age of the bday kid and the number of kids you'll have at the party and I'll be more'n' happy to send a list of suggestions!

The best party I ever had for my son was at a Papa's Pizza. For under 40 dollars I got pizza, soda and cake for 8 kids, including the party favors. They cleaned it up while the kids played in the play area. Everybody had fun and I had no dishes to clean up instead I got to take some great photos.Just call and reserve the room in advance(no money down I don't think )Very fun!!

Bowling alleys usually offer birthday party packages with pizza & soda, and bowling --not too expensive, and lots of fun for the kids.
