If you have to move it and you know where it's going is going to be permanent go for it and just do it. I had to move my dog's bed and the first night she went to the same spot to look for it but I redirected her to the new spot. By the third night she went to the right place when I gave her the command "to bed". You just have to make sure you keep the same routine and not change it too often, that is why I say go for it if you know it will be permanent. The faster you bring in the change and get her to deal with it the better.

The essential thing is that the bed is not changed, that's when you would need to make the change gradual. My dog hated it when I changed her bed six months ago. I had to keep the old one around and put the new one halfway on the old one for her to finally accept it. she was sleeping on the floor for a while before accepting a new bed. It's completely different with a new spot because there is still the familiarity of the bed.

Good luck!

My solution was to buy a few beds of the same type and put them in the rooms my pugs frequent. I tuck them under the table in the dining room, and keep one in the kitchen so they can watch while we make meals, plus their main bed in the living room (where they sleep at night).

I think it would be ok but I know with my pug he likes to be in the same room that we are in most of the time. Pugs are very needy and loving they are like kids.

I don't think I see a problem with that. The only thing is when you move it room to room. Make sure you put it in the same spot every time you move it.

If you need to move it, do it a little at a time so you don't confuse him.
