absolutely delicious, especially in the cold weather, and with corn bread. You use dried lima beans, of course. This is a great crock pot recipe.

Fresh (green) lima beans are good with ham as well, but don't make as good a soup.

Like the others said, use dry lima beans. I use smoked ham shanks but leftover ham (from xmas I presume) is good to use also.

Yes, and it is very good as long as your lima beans are nice and tender and not too firm.

it is one of my favorite dishes if done right, i personally like it to be almost mushy in texture, but not burnt. even a slight burnt taste ruins it for me..
