Jesus said that in evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign (no miracle) be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah: for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.''mathew 12:39-40). Jesus says ''NO SIGN.''He does not refer the Jews to blind Bartimeus whose sight he restored, the women with issues who was healed by merely touching him,the 2000 pigs he had destroyed to heal a man possessed,5000 and the 3000 people he had fed with a few pieces of fish and bread.NO sign, says Jesus BUT ONE! THE SIGN OF THE PROPHET JONAH! He is putting all his eggs in one basket. In the boat Jonah voluntiers to be thrown over board. was he DEAD OR ALIVE?ALIVE. The fish swallows Jonah and Jonah prays inside the fish belly. Was he DEAD OR ALIVE? ALIVE, for a dead man cant pray.Three days later the fish spits him out DEAD OR ALIVE? ALIVE!ALIVE! is the answer.

Jesus was unlike Jonah, who was ALIVE in the belly of the fish, which is the exact opposite of what the Christians claim had happen to their master Jesus, who was DEAD for the same period of time as Jonah was - ALIVE.

The sign Jesus gave was that "like Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the depth of the earth". Just like Jonah emerged alive after 3 days and nights in the belly of the fish from what appeared to be an impossible and fatal situation, so Jesus also emerged from the belly of the earth (his grave) from what appeared to be an impossible and fatal situation. So he did exactly what he said he would do.

Jonah was alive in the belly of the fish but he was confined there for 3 days. God promissed Jesus that he would rase him up from the dead, so with that assurance Jesus was like alive but confined to a dead state for 3 days.

It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it.
