Love is a decision. If you find someone that is suitable for you & you have the same moral standards, goals & ideals then it's not hard to fall in love. Unless you are not ready or have a fear of commitment. Sex, however, is chemistry, not necessarily love.

My experience is that I'd meet jerks and feel 'this is the best there is' and force an 'in love' feeling. Im a generally loving person so I know I cared for them but it wasn't genuine. I am with someone currently who is rushing the 'I love you' stage a little and I said "i love you' because he said it. I do think I'm in love with him though cause he's amazing :). Bottom line, it should never be forced cuz it never feels true. Love should feel natural and should make you feel happy about being in love.

Yeah, I've had a friend for about 9 years now, he is almost perfect, he is intelligent, handsome, tall, dark and handsome and successful, we went out for 3 months last year, despite all his pros, I could not fall in love with him no matter how I tried, he professed his love for me ones, but I could not lie and tell him I felt the same way cos I didn't, we broke up and remain friends. I guess you can't make yourself fall in love with someone.

you can't force love.. you fall in love.. hence the world fall it can't be pushed..
but after i fell out of love with someone i sure did try to fight to keep it b/c at the time i thought it was the right thing at the time..
didn't work..so morale of the story love is a feeling and we can't control feelings.

Trying to fall is an oxymoron. You don't try, you just do it.
If I "fall" down the stairs, believe me...I didn't try to do that. Its called "falling" because its accidental. It should happen. You are not in love....sounds like you've been infatuated before.

How does one "try" to fall in love? Shouldn't it just happen?

Nope, I've never needed to! It just happens. If you're not in love now, eventually you will be. Then maybe you will be asking how *not* to be in love... :]

If that worked, they'd call it jumping in love.
