We started training at 18 months. Had it finished in a couple weeks.

You just talk about it. Let them learn by example, leave the door open when youre in there. Teach them the process of realizing the urge to pee results in the action of going on the toilet. Get rid of diapers and get real undies, not pull ups.

Its really easy. Its when you wait for them, or complicate the process with asking or making them that you end up with a 3 year old thats not trained. And that is a very sad thing.

This definately depends on the child. My son starting showing an interest when he was 16 months, but by 20 months lost interest. So when he turned 2 we really started trying (just been a couple of months) We ask him constantly if he needs to go to the potty and we make him go every so often. He's beginning to get the hang of it, and lets us know when he has an accident. There's only been a couple of times that he asked to go before he has an accident. Ive been told that most boys arent completely potty trained until about 3 yrs.

My little boy just turned three and we are starting to potty train him now. He is doing really good. When they are ready though you'll know. Don't force him to use the potty because then your child will not like it. Don't force them into something they are not ready for.
