I think until you grow up and become a parent it's really hard to see them as human being. People who make mistakes, who have bad days, and all the other things we allow other people to be. Then when we grow up and start dealing with our own kids we wonder how our parents kept their sanity. I know I do. I learned that my parents were wiser than the media, my friends, and yes even me ,who thought I knew everything.

Well, it's normal to feel like that when you are a teenager. At that point you are going through such tremendous hormonal changes that you really don't know up from down, but you think you know it all and that your parents know nothing! It's normal to feel this way. You will appreciate your parents much more when you get older into your 20's and 30's and will then have a much greater respect for just how hard a job parenting really is. Don't be too hard on them. When you feel as though you just can't take them anymore sit down and talk to them or try to get out of the house for awhile (without making them worry unnecessarily) because believe me...they want a break from YOU too! Teens are no picnic to live with. I am assuming from your question that you are a teen, sorry if I'm wrong. I'm in my 30's and have nothing but love and respect for my parents, but you know what? They still annoy me sometimes. I'm sure I annoy them too. That's the beauty of moving out on your own (when you're mature enough!)
Good luck!

I feel that it all have to do with the age the person is.
As young children, ages 0-11, their parents are everything to them. As they reach 11 and especially teen years, their parents will be their worst enemies no matter how nice or what their parents do for them. After age 21, people will start to appreciate their parents way more than before. Then they will realize that their parents weren't that bad as they thought they were when they were young.

I think you only dislike your parents if they disliked you growing up. When you're a small kid, everything is in the hands of your parents. They affect your liking them or not liking them. What they do to you as a kid returns to them later on, when kids get older. And you cannot force yourself to like them or love them if you don't feel like it. And that's not your fault.

As for your question you are both right and wrong; all depending upon the people you talk to. Each person has his or her views on the subject.
I don't like mine and they don't like me, I guess they tried to like me, but, you know something parents cannot choose their kids and kids cannot choose their parents. It's the only way I can put it to be truthful. I'm what you call the black sheep of the family, never fit in, never went by their standards. Always did my own thing.

i think most young people go through a phase. but as u get older, you understand them better. just b/c ur family doesn't mean ur going to feel the love everyday. if you have kids, u'll feel the same way about them from time to time but the love is always there.

I love my parents and it's shameful that you don't love yours. It's a sin for someone to hate their parents and it's also part of the 10 commandments aswell.
