lactose intolerance hasn't been stopped as far as I know.
You can substitute goat's milk and see if that helps - it often does because the goats milk has a different consistency than cow's milk. I have known women with babies who could not drink cow's milk but loved the goats milk.
Another substitute is, of course, soy milk.

You can also use lactose free cows milk it tastes perfectly normal. They also make lactose free icecream now. If you're extremely allegic you need to avoid dairy products and use an alternative when you cook.

There's nothing you can do to stop it but it is possible that a child may outgrow it or at least that it may become less severe as they grow older. I was lactose intolerant from birth but it lessened in severity after I reached adulthood and started having my children. I still have to be careful how much dairy I take in but in limited amounts I'm fine.

You don't. It's there for life. All you can do is purchase products that don't have dairy milk in them.

It's called lactose intolerance and there's no way to stop it. It's an allergy to dairy products and unless you outgrow your allergy there's no way to stop it.
