well i dont own a helicopter but im a helicopter pilot and there are tons of hidden cost. helicopters have ton and tons of moving parts and there are lots of parts that are tim sensitive meaning after a ceratain amount of time they are replaced. these parts can be very expensive. some can be 30 or 40 thousand. and judging from they way you talk about the helicopter you dont know too much about them soo i would get an bell 206 L3 instead of a B model the B model has a less horsepower. the engines on the L3 dont work as hard to produce the same performance

besides the actual purchase there are several hidden costs...
-registration
l-uxury tax...unless you have proof that you use it for busness purposes.
-storage fees if you are planing on storing it at the hub you usually depart and return from
-field usage fees for the privelage of using the runway/helipad/ ect....someone has to pay the wages of the people who work traffic control at the airport.
-insurance...that's not gonna exactly be cheap either
-your lisence to operate the aircraft

Don't own them, but fly them regular.

Hull insurance will cost as much as 10% a year.
