Interval training is when you work out gently for a few minutes, then ramp up the pace and resistance for a few minutes, then ease up again. You alternate between heavy and strenuous exercise, and gentler exercise. I use interval training during my cardiovascular exercise. There's a setting on the treadmill that lifts you on an incline for a few minutes, then levels off for a few. Up and down. I like to sprint up the hill, then jog the plateau.

Hey! I believe it's when you combine weights and cardio exercises in a routine and you do it in certain amount of time each, increasing your metabolism. I am not 100% sure. I hope you find the correct answer and enjoy your interval training!
