You cannot get him to stop but you can prevent him from reaching the wires. They have plastic and mesh tubing that you can put your wires in that he will not be able to chew through. I would suggest some of them. Electrical wires make a high pitched noise that we as humans cannot hear but many times animals can. They are usually attracted to the wires from the noise, so there is no way to keep him from noticing it. You can only make it harder for him to destroy.

Good Luck

Hi there...consider using an inexpensive cable wire loom organizer http://cableorganizer.com/wire-loom/ to protect loose bundles of wire. Not only does it kitty proof the wires, but is also great at tidying up the clusters of wires. For wires that are difficult to secure within the loom consider a pet-friendly product called Grannick's Bitter Apple® http://www.grannick.com found at most pet stores worldwide. It sours the wires with a citrusy scent that is distasteful to most cats.

Well, there's a couple things you could do. Pet stores sell cat repelent that comes in a spray bottle. Now, I've never used it but I guess cats just hate the smell of it. Or you could do what I did; take an orange slice and run it down the length of the cord. Cats hate the smell of citrus, too. And tobassoc sauce. That's another thing you could use. Or you could just simply unplug the cords if you're worried about him getting shocked.

Wrap the wires he chews in tinfoil. It feels awful to bite. Almost like a shock on the teeth. Works awesome!

Wow ... that's unusual, and expensive. Does your cat have other toys in the house to occupy time? And I would never suggest "getting rid of the cat", but I would seriously barricade that room at night, not allowing the cat near the computer at all, until you can find an alternative to the boredom issue.

you can wrap the wires with plastic strips (computer store and some hardware stores carry these), you can buy the "cat no" sprays that are supposed to keep them away from things but they don't work that well. I use a cheap water spry bottle from wal-mart (under $2.00). Put it on either mist or spray depending on the distance required and nail them when you catch them. takes about 10 times to get them to catch on though.

Wow that's really bad because your cat can become electrocuted. My suggestion is to spray the wires that are within reach with a bitter apple spray and invest in some really good cat nip toys or stringy toys for your cat to occupy his time with.
