That is an excellent statement! This is how I see it...
As said above... investigation questions the authenticity of truth. So, in always being truthful, you have nothing to fear of being investigated - you can never be caught in a lie. We often see people "hiding" behind "veils" or false appearances and when we try to uncover them (investigate) they run or become belligerent.

Well you can investigate Faith to find out the Truth but not neccesary having Faith will get you to the Truth. Not everything is Truth in this live but never lose your Faith. Faith and Truth can walk together but at the end not what you were looking with your Faith will be the truth just listen to your Heart is the best way to know the difference in between Faith and Truth when you need to know the truth without losing the real perspective Of Faith.

Many things at once. 1) The truth is accessible 2) Even without great struggle of method (1) 3) (1) even for the common 4) The truth is like an accident 5) The truth is like an accident to most. 6) Most treat the truth like one of many accidents 7) But their life REALLY is profoundly altered 8) or Should be altered, if they would only recognize 9) Most do all this-- the few do something else. 10) That something else is better, vis. (7-8) 11) Most do this, and this is all there is to be done. ===== To me, he means that, supposing the truth had a numeric value, most people may look at many numbers on a line, and even look at the "truth" but they have no concern for it. If it were the number "42"-- there is no significance for them. Another interpretation: he means that it is something meaningful-- it happens in a moment, we actually experience something true, and known to be true ( not mererly arbitrary symbols or their analog). But we let it go, as if it does not, or should not inform EVERY decision thereafter, as a basis to right and wrong. And obviously-- that Churchill-himself orients himself to the truth in this attentive instead of ignorant way. It could be divine revelation, an acknowledgement of death, a non-skeptical breakthrough, a solution to the is-ought dilemma. I have no idea what his personal truth is here. It's vague for a reason. It can mean many things and so people remember it because they believe it applies to them.

If a person is telling the truth, he need not worry about being questioned in an investigation.

Nothing to figure. Investigation implies the suspicion of lies. Truth doesn't hide. The world ... is made ... from truth.

It means that if one is honest, they have nothing to be afraid of if people have doubts about you.
In Silas Marner there's a part where Silas says something like "God will see me through"
unfortunately ,he was wrong, but that's not the point.
If you are truthful, and have faith, you have nothing to fear, i think that's what it means.
