I think it depends on the maturity level of the person, and the reason they are doing it. For example, teen girls that have sex to try and be "popular" in my opinion are not ready for the consequences of their actions. Too many teens look at sex as "not a big deal" or have these rainbow parties where oral sex is the activity of choice. They do not consider oral sex to be a sexual act when they just do not know what they are putting in their mouth. Trying to pin it down to a certain age is difficult, but I would have to say around 16 1/2 or 17 might be a good number. As long as they are using protection and are not doing it to be more popular and try and gain the affection of a teen boy who only cares about another notch on his belt.

As for boys, I would have to say about the same age, but again it depends on their maturity level. They have a ton of raging hormones and seeing today's teen girls looking more mature at 15, 16 and 17 then they did when I was that age, it has to be tough.

Personally, I think the more teens know about sex and the consequences if they do it unprotected, the better. They need to see what happens when somebody contracts a sexually transmitted disease. That means the disgusting photos should be available for them to really see the results of unprotected sex.

It depends on the individuals involved! Puberty happens before the mind has time to mature! You need to find out the facts before having sex...like using protection, making babies, diseases! You can get that information at the health clinic and every town has one! It is totally discreet! If you can't handle the responsibility of having protected sex then you are not ready to move on to the next step!

18 is still too young. For christs sakes what happened to waiting until your married? Wouldn't you rather have a virgin? Remember, the girl/guy you sleep with today is eventually going to be someones wife/husband.

As long as you are legally married, then it is okay whether you are 15 or 22. I am a firm believer that no one should have sex unless they are married. However, if you are not married and feel the urge, be very careful and very selective, and never have sex unless both you and your companion are of legal age.

It does not matter is age it matters if you are ready... I mean below 16 is 2 young but I would wait as long as you can. Make sure you are ready b/c it is a big step and comes with a lot of risks! STD, birth control, HVP......BABY!
