I know it seems like a stupid question, but I got a bed in a bag for Christmas and I've never had a bedskirt before.

The bedskirt goes in between the box spring and the matress. It should have one end that is open which goes toward the headboard.

Place bed skirt over the box spring, then put mattress on top

The bedskirt goes on top of the box spring, but under your mattress. It is used to cover up the frame of your bed.
