My friend's mother is tottaly against her music (christian rock), tottaly against her style of clothing (dark clothes), and she claims to be a christian. The mother is a tottal jerk! She doesn't seem to love her daughter at all. The daughter is craving for attention, and she's worrying me. Now she doesn't feel worthy enough to eat! How can I help her feel better?

NO. The mom is tottaly out of line. The daughter isn't dissing her mother or anything. Maybe attention is a bad word, maybe I should have used 'love.' She doesn't "Get" Hungry anymore.

Parents can be hard. They should come with warning labels. Some will claim to "love" their children despite being jerks to them.

If your friend worries you this much, then either take her out and make her feel special. Let her know that to you she IS important. All it takes sometimes is one person to make everything all better.

But if the mother won't let her daughter out, try to go to your friend at her place. Perhaps the mother will put on the nice show (as most parents; espcially the ones that can be jerks; will do), but no matter what show the girl and her mother that you KNOW that your friend is worthy of your friendship, and that she is worthy to eat. Make something that you know she really like to eat and bring it over.

Just never give up. It may be difficult, but you have to stick with it. Be a good friend. All that will give your friend the confidence she needs.

if she thinks she's not worthy then tell her neither are you but eat a really good meal with her and even offer to pay for it and make her feel terrible if she doesn't eat all the burrito. Of course in a laughing matter. Right now she can count on only you so make her laugh if not take her to the beach or somewhere for the day to take her away from this sad life ... even if its only for a day. Then watch tv and stay in you p.j.'s all day and have fun with her. Remember to take pics so she can always remember what kind of friend she has!

i'm not christian but i am a catholic an my sister is going maybe thru the same think bc all she wears if skulls, black clothing an listens to rock music an my parents are like really catholic an they hate that about her so she is ignored by my parents sometimes but that does not stop her from eating an feel good about her self. tell your friend that if she feels comfortable with her self then she should not kill her self over that.... she is worth living bc everyone has a purpose in this world.....

Well if she is a christian, take her to fellowship with her peers. I do believe prayer and an abundance of hugs is likely to give her back her appetite. Also...she should probably seek out some sort of counseling with her mother so they can find the route of her mothers issues with her lifestyle. Most churches do this for free.
