It depends on the airline and the type of aircraft that you fly. The salaries are less than most people realise.
As a turboprop pilot, for example with Flybe, you would start on a salary of approximately £21,000 per annum.
As a British Airways First Officer on the 737s you start on £28,000 per annum. By the end of your career with BA, a captaincy on a Boeing 747 could earn you £130,000 per annum.

Most UK airline pilots fly just under 900 hours per year - 900 hours being the legal maximum.

Also bear in mind that most pilots get heavily discounted holidays and flights - up to 90% discounts in some cases.

it depends on what you fly, and where.

if you fly a boeing 747 from like Tokyo to Boston, then you will make about 300-350k a year.

but if you fly a MD-90 only from boston to chicago, then you will make around 50-90k

But you probably won't fly a 747 until you are like 50 though if you become an airline pilot right out of college, and then you need to retire at 65... so you don't really do it for that long. the rest of the time you spend on diferent routes working your way up the companie's positions.

Airline pilots, after they get certified and licensed, will start from the ground up. You'll work out of a small city, flying smaller airplanes using their express routes, but you'll fly that same route- Monday through Friday. If you stay with a major airline, you'll get better flights as you grow within the company, get bigger flights and better routes. Your starting pay is around 1200 to 1500 a month, but you get great benefits. The older pilots will have seniority, and they get the meat and potatoes routes, and you'll have to work up to it.

it depends on how long you have been in the bussinuss and what plane you fly and how many hours you fly.. it all comes down to that. a pilot ussually has to fly 100 hours a week to reach their hour needs. it depends on your experience say if you have been in the airforce it is probably a sign that you might make more money becuase of your experience.
