I'd think a month in advance would be plenty of time, there are tons of different showers that can be thrown, a spa night, Pampered Chef does a wedding shower--a consultant comes in and demos stuff then the bride has her "wish" list and the people at the shower buy her stuff off her list, do a lingerie shower.

First of all, you're not supposed to plan your own bridal shower! Your maid of honor is supposed to plan and pay for your bridal shower! The reason why the MOH is supposed to do this and not your family or yourself, is to not appear to be begging for gifts.

Most people have a bridal shower (a proper shower not one of those hen nights) about a month before the wedding.

3 to 6 weeks before the wedding. Basically the wedding should be set in stone and there should not be any wedding date changes etc. Everyone should be confident that the wedding will go on as planned and that they have not wasted money on gifts & planning for you because the wedding has been canceled or postponed.

I had mine a month and a half before our wedding. I was just the maitron of honor for my friends wedding and I had hers exactly a month prior to the wedding.

Do not get to stressed that you end up sick on your wedding day. Why not hire professional help?
