Ask to escalate the call to a manager. Usually it isn't just one person making the calls, they are on a dialer system and the calls get routed to different people. When you speak to the manager, explain the situation, and give him/her your name and your address. They should be able to verify that since the addresses won't match, the number they have is an old one. Don't be rude whenever you speak to the representative who calls in, or their likely to act pissy and hang up just to let you recieve another call the next day. Be polite but be firm when you ask for the manager. By the way, just read the above answers and it isn't a good idea to start saying you are going to sue, or bring up anything about Consumer Rights. The company knows about consumer rights, and what an individual usually thinks they know about them, isn't correct. Do explain though that the calls are causing you to incur charges as this is not allowed. If you start using big words, pissy language, or threaten them with suing, it is unlikely they will help you with your request. They should, they just don't sometimes. While you could be threaten with a lawyer, most who use that threat never follow through, and are dismissed at the frontline by the rep who made the outgoing call to you... Good luck.

All you can really do is continue to tell them that they have the wrong number. You can also ask to speak with a supervisor and request they stop calling you. The trouble is that most phone directories are not up to date and the number may still show to be in the other persons name.

Ask to speak to his supervisor. Or ask what company he works for and call one of the head guys and complain. This is harrassment. Threaten to call the police. Your phone bill will be evidence enough that he doesn't stop calling. Good luck!

You should not have to change your number. Once you tell them to stop calling you they have to stop calling you. If they call again ask for a supervisor or someone in upper management and tell them that they are violating your consumer rights and that if they dont stop harassing you, you will sue them. Usually if you are knowledgeable about consumer rights they will stop calling.

The next time they call ask to speak to the Manager.
Tell the manager to remove your number from the calling list.
It is illegal to harass people like this.

tell them that they have the wrong number and that you bought this house 2 years ago so there is no way that it could be the person that he is looking for.
if none of that doesn't work, call the police and tell them about your situation.
