It depends on exactly how he's doing it. I had a friend in high school who used to read a lot of Freud, and then he would ask questions like, "Have you ever had a dream about water?" We just told him that we didn't want him to ask questions like that anymore.
If you're more specific about how the person kills the jokes, we could give more specific advice. And maybe if the jokes are inappropriate it's good that they are killed.
