My girl is tuning 13 on Jan 2. She's a wonderful girl, treats me, her dad and her bro with love, has never done something bad. Like every child, sometimes she did something wrong, but the severest punishment she' got so far was a light grounding of 2 days, for some monors fault. She's honest, trust us and even when she does something wrong she tel us. Excellente studente too. That is, so far I've had a great and wonderful girl. Well, but now she's turning 13, she's a teen. Many people say teens are kinda hard to handle. What do I have to do to so that she keeps being this wonderful girl? Will she necessarily become disrespectful and do bad stuff?

Sounds like you have done a wonder-full job so fat. As long as you keep the lines of communication open i dont see a problem.

absolutely not! she will keep being the wonderful girl you raised her to be. she may change a little bit, but gradually. she may become more mature or may want to go out with her friends and stuff, but she won't be bad. if you've raised her so far to know what is right and what is wrong, she will know her limits and have self control. she won't do anything that she feels is not right.

Continue to do what you've been doing. Sounds like you have done a great job so far.
You may want to allow her a few more freedoms when she asks for them. Like bedtime change or increase in allowance or whatever is appropriate to your family.

Good luck.

Not necssiarly. Be ready for a lot of crushes, drama, and heartbreak. I didn't cuss out my parents and go balistic when I turned 13; there's a good chance she won't either. Have fun and tell her I said happy b-day!

No, not all turn at 13.

However....keep doing what you're doing....stay involved...eat dinner together and let her know that you are there. She sounds Awesome!

Communication is very important for teens and parents....sometimes its hard for us to just listen when that's all they are really looking for.(hardest thing for me to learn with my teen....advice is good when they are asking for it otherwise just being there is even better:O) Always let her know that door is open. You'll be there to hear and listen and not to judge.

you sound like a great parent!
Having a teen is fun....yes moods are up and down...however sharing and watching them grow in adults is even better.

Best wishes!

if shes been a good girl up to now, one birthday wont change her attitude. just remember, when your girl decides shes ready to grow up into womanhood, dont hold her back because thats when the attitude, lies and secrets come in
