My doggie does the same thing, she just kinda stands there and glares at me, stiff as a board.

I think your dog does it for the same reason mine does because he may feel embarassed, or humiliated.

As soon as I take the clothes off of my dog she starts to jump around all Happy like she usually is, she is also a Chihuahua, so now I don't put her sweater on unless it is really cold, then she doesn't seem to mind.

Well, isolate the problem. What if you walk into Abercrombie, find an ADORABLE pair of jeans, but when you try them on, then're too tight? You still decide to buy them but everytime you wear them, they are uncomfortable. Or, what if your mother/boyfriend/friend bought those jeans for you and you just didn't feel like telling them that the size is off? You're uncomfortable wearing them, which is probably how your dog is feeling.

Just because you might think he's comfortable doesn't mean he is. Some dogs are meant to wear clothes, like my little Maltese Ricky, and some aren't, like perhaps, your doggie! Do him a favor and skip the clothes.

Glad I could (attempt to) help!

Maybe he is acting that way because he is a dog not a person. Some dogs like wearing clothes every once in a while, but not all of the time. Maybe he just likes feeling like an animal instead of a person.

The clothing may not fit correctly and could be very constricting. Dog's are really not meant to wear clothing, but if you insist make sure you are with him when he does have something on and that he is completely comfortable, that it is not tight and that he can see his surrounds as well as if he had nothing on.

When I was watching The Girls Next door, one of the girls dogs would just lay down and act dead when she put clothes on her. Some dogs will just take some time to get used to it. Just keep putting clothes on him and he'll eventually get used to it.

Some dogs don't like to wear clothes. I have one that loves it, and struts around showing off when she has on a sweater, and another who will try to tear off anything but her collar. It's just in their personality.

Maybe your dog doesn't like clothes. No big deal, he doesn't have to have an outfit to be cute.

lol he IS uncomfortable. The clothes make him feel like he cant move as easily. While you are doing no harm, make sure you let him walk around when the clothes are on. I have seen dogs that wont even walk when you put clothes on them! :)

He's most likely embarassed! He's got a nice fur coat on, why would he need clothes? I'd hide too.
