Then you can get to observe the Muslim laws about how to deal with Christians, if that is your cup of tea.

The Quran declares: "O you who believe (Muslims)! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whosoever among you takes them for a friend, then surely shall become one of their number; surely Allah does not guide (those Jewish and Christian) people." - Sura 5:51

"Fight and slay the idolaters (infidels) wherever ye find them, and seize them, take them captives, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every ambush and stratagem of war." - Sura 9:5.

This is a very personal choice. Your experience will not be the same as someone else's. I suggest you study Islam, then if it seems right to you, go for it.

I know an American guy who converted, actually has a job at the mosque and seems quite happy with his life. I know an Italo-American previously Catholic woman who converted. she is my next-door neighbor and I hear her screaming at her kids all the time. Her nastiness with her children borders on abuse. She obvioulsy did not get what she was looking for.

I took some lessons in Islam. In the classroom I was threatened with violence by a very large, physically powerful woman because I sat in her seat during breaktime. She was a convert. A woman who grew up in the religion would never have acted that way.

Your experience will be your own, so if you are curious, investigate. One way or another there will be something to learn.

I hope you read ths answer all the way down here because when I read this question I had a deep...sense of happiness to know there are still unbiased people out there. All my thoughts could take up a library so I will give you some advice. Your brain is your most important asset so don't let anyone deceive you. A book I highly recommend is "A History of God" as it provides some great insight to Islam, especially Sufi Islam (very peaceful and loving sect which seeks God's divine glory through dissolving our greed and ego). Also here are sme websites you can beigin to read. I wish you the best of luck on your journey to Islam and that it be paved in ease for you, despite the challenges that surround you.

All praised due to Allah and peace be upon the beloved Prophet Muhammad. Yes, i reverted to Islam close to 2 and a half years ago. it has been the best decision i have ever made. It totally changed my life and it continues to do so! You must not only see Islam as a religion but a complete way of life. Every single facet of life is covered and there is an answer to every single question you have, no mysteries! The bottom line is that is LOGICAL, forget what you see on TV or have heard from non-Muslims. visit a local mosque in your area and speak with Muslims. Your character, your spirituality, your finances, your hygiene, your diet, your general outlook on creation etc., will all change for the better! if you want more information you may email me and i can give you a better testimony of how i came to embrace Islam, evasquez26@yahoo.com.

Yes I was a former Christian woman who converted to Islam. I enjoy my life a lot. I feel a lot more at peace with myself and more safer and happier than I did as a Christian.

There are hundreds in the USA and many other countries that convert to the religon of Islam. I am one of them. I have also introduced a few to Islam, and they accepted, Alhamdulilah. When you first convert to islam, it might seem hard. You'll get used to it. Just like any other religon, Islam has strict rules and laws for the Muslims to follow. I too was a christian and converted to Muslim. It has shown me the truth. Many blessings have come my way. I was in a marriage for 12 years to a christian man who was abusive to me and our three children. My husband now is Muslim of course and is so wonderful to me and the children.
It is very exciting to hear that you are considering converting.
May Allah bless you.

To convert to Islam from christianity, one would have to deny the deity of Christ. Islam recognizes Jesus as a prophet, but not as the Son of God. That will have eternal consequences, but that is for your conscience to decide. Interestingly enough, however, it is the DEATH PENALTY, in many parts of the islamic world, for a muslim to convert to Christianity. This practice is spelled out in Sharia law under "honor killings". Food for thought.

No one of The True Christian Faith would ever "convert" to any thing that is a stated enemy of The One True God.....period.... aint never going to happen... Those who Know The Truth... will never turn to the lie of islam or to any other deception of the forces of evil. Those who's Salvation is Assured by the direct promise of God are, and forever will be, God's.

I think the number of those who have actually lived as Christians and not just used the title and warmed a pew occasionally is very low. Some "Christians" convert to other religions, including Islam out of rebellion because they dont like something within Christianity. Sometimes they just want an excuse to hate Jews and other Christians but its never because Islam is more factual or believable.
