Depends.
Ford kicks butt with that power stroke, and just general power.
But I love my Silverados. My 2001 has over 225,000 miles on the original motor, and still smokes the tires down, hauls loads, and gets an average 20 mpg highway. It has a lightly modded 5.3 V8 along with many many other upgrades and accessories (show truck/daily driver lol) It's beaten a 2001 Cobra and a 2005 SS silverado.
I had a 1994 Silverado that now has over 300,000 miles. All original. Wonderful truck, V6 that still is pretty perky, and gets about 17 mpg highway.
Now I have to compliment Crown Vics too. They are wonderful smooth cars, and I have driven several. I loved them.
I'm a Chevy girl at heart, so of course I will take a Chevy any day, but I know they are not supreme. Neither are. Both have their great points and faults. Chevy's typically ride better and get better gas mileage, and last longer (that I have seen). But fords can really haul it. lol And they are mostly more power full stock than Chevy's. Both are great though. I have 2 Chevy's now, and I'm thinking of adding a f350 to pull my horse trailer with, and my fiance and I are buying a 20s or 30s model ford to restore later.

In my 25 years of driving experience..... I have had alot of bad chevys..... more than fords. I use to be a straight chevy guy..... but no more after my 98 blazers transmission blew up... a 4L60E. I will never own another chevy. I have a Ford Explorer now and it has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. Im not saying all chevys are junk, or ford is the greatest. In my experience I believe ford makes a more reliable vehicle..... just my opinion so dont get all mad.....

It depends on what type of vehicle you're looking for. I am partial to the Fords, especially if you're in the market for a truck. You can't beat the F150 although the new GM truck is better than the old one. If you're looking for a mid-size car, the Fusion is a far better choice than the Grand Am or the Malibu, and is getting incredible recognition. Statistically, Ford has gained some ground this year, especially from the imports, whereas GM has dropped.
No matter what though, it's your money and it's your choice. I would suggest that you take one day and go drive the Ford and the GM one after another, take it for a good run on the highway, and that may help you decide which one feels better for you. Also, look up both in the Consumers Reports, maybe even crash test worthiness, especially if you have a young family. Here are some links that may help you.

I think both are great trucks, but it depends on what you need them for. If you are hauling a lot of weight or towing, Fords win hands down. If you are looking for a smooth riding, comfortable truck, go with the Chevy. It can handle most things people need trucks for too. I love Chevys, but Ford are good trucks too. All depends on what you need

I have had both but I prefer Chevy, I have a trail blazer now and I love the ride, to me Ford rides like a truck and Chevy rides like a car.

I had nothing but Chevy trucks for the longest time until my friend let me drive his ford diesel to tow my camper with. Then I switched over. I have not looked back since. I still love my 2004 F-350 4x4 diesel 4 door truck to this day. What an awesome machine!!! (plus my nascar driver also drives a ford. Go 17)

I have owned both. I found that the chevys are easier to maintain and repair and are a bit les expensive to purchase and maintain. All my fords seem to rot out way to quickly. I have a 1/2 GMC pickup that I carry my tools in and drive every day. I also have a F250 Super Duty that I snow plow with and use to haul heavy loads. I love both trucks.

Ford will eat a chevy and spit it out, without even thinking about it. Slap a 427 Cobra Jet into anything, and hold on
