5. Amazingly, Jehovah's Witnesses did not splinter as a sect from some other religion. Instead, a truly tiny but sincere group of bible students studied only the Scriptures to determine the will of God. Thus their religion remains absolutely independent of and not carrying the sins of Christendom's history, yet carries the authority of Christ's teachings.

6. Despite the distortions of anti-Witnesses, throughout their modern history Jehovah's Witnesses have refused to claim divine inspiration or infallibility for their teachings. They have pointed to the bible (and not any particular translation) as the only inspired infallible means of knowing God's thoughts. For over 125 years, their teachings have been presented as merely the results of sincere bible research by imperfect but godly humans.

I am an out and out atheist and as such believe strongly about religion being a total fabrication. Its as bad as worshiping the sun or the stars or a statue. Wise up everyone life is for living and when you die your gone. Why is it so hard to understand that, is it cause your insecure? I think they are following a false prophet. One of many that Jesus prophesied about. They also deny that Jesus is God and I believe they are wrong in this thought. I also feel that it is terrible how they have changed the wording of the bible to fit their "itching ears." I feel sad for them and pray that they will see the wrong road that they are being led down.

i also respect that religion .i mean they are sorta annoying always trying to knock on your door and read to you from their little pamphlets .i have always told them I'm catholic
and dont believe in what they believe but they keep reading and reading and not to be rude but i kick them out of my house by telling them i need to go out.i would never think of onverting into their religion because they dont celebrate a lot of holidays like b-days i wouldnt want my kids to miss out on birthday parties just because of religion its plain torture to them ..
i dont know i guess ill just stick to being catholic.

It's ironic that although they make such a big deal about "Jehova" being God's true name, it would be more accurate to say that it's "Yahweh" (comes from the letters YHVH). Other than that, they don't believe Jesus is who he said he is.

Not sure, really. The only personal experience I've had with one was not good, but that was certainly the person in question and not the religion. So, still out on that one.

I can respect that their religion instructs them to try to convert others. My religion (Judaism) teaches against trying to convert, and so hopefully they will be understanding when they come to my door and I wish them well and turn them away.
