There are some towns/cities that i know of where you get a ticket for leaving your car running while it is unattended.

There is in IL the person that leaves the car running gets a ticket also.

And if you leave your car running in a parking lot they can ticket you if your keys are in the ignition even if the doors are locked.

it just depends on where the vehicle is if your in town at a store and you leave it unattended and it gets stolen .....................
