I think we are only a small part of the "global warming". The earth has gone through ice ages and tropical times. It's just the way it is. Our affect is pretty minimal, especially when you consider that one volcano eruption spews out more ozone depleting gasses that mankind has EVER created. We can do our part to reduce these gasses, though. We are defiantly not helping, even if we are only partly to blame.

Beg borrow or steal a copy of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth". That video shows exactly how we can arrest reduce our carbon emissions and maybe even stop global warming.
The problem is, we don't know if the situation can be reversed.

First off, you should avoid getting an opinion on something like global warming off of a video by the guy who invented the Internet! Global warming has been going on for 10,000 years, since the last ice age. And personally, I wouldn't mind some warmer weather! Look at the actual evidence, and look at it from several different sources. Do not let crazy doomsday environmentalist groups tell you what to think. It seems like all these so called environmentalists think they understand nature so well! I suspect they all live in big cities and drink fancy coffee, but how many of them camp or work in the wild? So try to avoid being an ignorant "environmentalist", and become a well informed environmentalist that truly understands our issues by asking people who actually know what they are talking about.

At this late date global warming is probably a fact.

No we are not smart enough collectively, nor do we have the tools available to do much about it.

Don't get me wrong, we have the brains to figure out an answer, but wether it is the right answer and wether or not it is in time, only history will tell.

First though, we have to do something about the money junkies who run our world. In this day of open government (?) and democracy, it is not the people who make decisions such as this but the morons with the most money and political pull. We would have a chance if we could get them away from money and power and to come over to our side for some serious universal problem resolution.

I get more than a chuckle sometimes about the whole global warming doomsaying.

btw, the UN committee working on this very issue , yes you know the flag waver of the Kyoto summit and all that the that US disavowed participation in,.. has changed their mind on their doomsaying that the ocean level will not rise by 34 or so inches as they predicted but now say at the most 17.

I bring that up that people listen to the people spouting out worst case scenarios that are grounded in nothing but guesswork with little or no scientific evidence , computer models or expertise of much of any kind.

In the last few decades the USA has done the 'most' to curtail its greenhouse gas emmisions of any country. Oddly enough UN had its margins of emmission requirements different for every country and what a big surprise... all other countries has less asked of them in regard to green house gas emmissions..
In other words... USA you bad people you have to reduce yoour polluting.. everyone else try a little to reduce yours maybe would ya...

You want to worry about anyone what is going to happen with the industrial boom in places like China who are putting out huge amounts of pollution and nothing you do here is going to change that much.

In reality its quite something that humans think themselves so self important that mother nature wont take care of the situation.

I don't think there's any more we can do to stop Global Warming than we can do to stop the Moon from moving farther away from the Earth, or the Sun from growing old and dying. I'm sure some sci-fi fantasy buffs could write tomes on what to do, but the truth is that there isn't anything we can do with our technology and not much we'll be able to do in the near future. My opinion is that we're better off learning how we can survive on a planet that has a changing climate (it changes with or without us. ref Ice Age). Global warming is a good thing for the evolution of the climat.
But actualy all scientists in the world think it is bad because they hide the realy bad factor of climat change in the bad way that is the increasing of droughts by direct actions of human activities on water cycle.
Waterprof surface, drainage, redrawing of rivers to accelerate the flow instead of floods to recharge the underground reserves, deforestation , cultures and overpumping of deepwater .
If we irrigate the dry lands all over the world with runoff water like that:

The global Warming will become and advantage.
Are you ready to understand this way of thinking or still listening the lies?

yes, there is a way. We as a people need to come together and start taking back our country and start listening to what nature has been trying to warn us about. the government is not in control...we the people are way more powerful as a group...together and once we come together we can make a change. Firstly, i think we can make a difference by not buying anymore products that are harmful to our environment...Smart people, inventors, smart business people need to create a new market for energy efficient products. Many people out there want to buy energy efficient and environmentall safe products and once these products are available it'll be much easier for the transition.

I hope so, but I think people didn't take this seriously years ago when we were warned, I remember. Hopefully we can slow it down and in the future they may find a way to correct it before it's too late.
