Isn't a Hood Boy responsible for her being a single mother in the first place? Is this the image we want to give young brothers and sisters trying to come up? Shouldn't she want a Good Man instead of a Boy anyway? There is nothing good about being Hood. She of all people should be ashamed of herself for perpetuating the image that you have to be 6'4" and 225. Then she wants you to buy her book talking about how life is not a fairy tale she needs to get real. This is a message to my brothers out there you need to aspire to be more than Hood you need to be Good. And when you met a sister that tries to tell you that you are not Hood-enough you need to leave her alone there is nothing you can do for her. To my sisters out there you don't need a hood to make you feel good - you need a real man that can hold down a job, a man that can hold you down, and hold you up, a man that won't run from responsibility, a man that will respect you and himself. Or you could follow Fantasia's lead

Thank you for having some sense! I am a teen-aged Black girl and I repeatedly keep telling my fellow Black sistas that they deserve better than what they are choosing. I see a whole load of them with boys that have their pants down, can't spell, and their only aspirations are to be rappers, basketball players, or football players. How is a rapper going to help solve a cure for cancer? How is a basketball player going to create the next mathematical equation that is in the textbooks for centuries? I surely do not know. I blame it on the lack of knowledge of our history. 99.9% of Black children, the most knowledge that they have of their history i Dr. King, Malcolm X, and Rosa Parks. What about Queen Nzingha, Nat Turner, Hatshepsut, Emmett Till, or Nella Larsen. How will they know that the "Lion King" is based off of an African ruler by the name of Sundiata Keita who was the first ruler of Mali? Black girls are being told that all they have to settle for are idiotic thugs. They think they have to dress inappropriately to catch worthless people. Fantasia, like other sad Black women, are setting bad examples. Thank you for acknowledging that.

Well its like they say, "you can take them out the hood, but ya can't take the hood out of them"... Me I like a professional thug, one who is intelligent, with a good job, that I can actually take out to a company function, and the one I can bring to the underground clubs, hold it down in the bedroom, and "ain't no punk". lol

well love comes in all shapes and sizes and because we as humans aren't perfect and tend to forever make wrong choices we do desire things for our flesh but here is the main key point ''IF WE HUMANS M/F LEARN TO OBEY GOD WORDS BE PATIENT,FAITHFUL,OBEDIENT,AND TRUST ONLY GOD FOR OUR DIRECTIONS IN OUR LIVES HE WILL GIVE US WHAT WE NEED AND NOT WHAT WE WANT'' and a real man is someone who isn't ashamed to put GOD 1st pray with his family, spread the good word and living accordingly plus the things you said and for closure every one has a lil hood in them including the president vs pastors vs nuns
