Would it not be that person's karma which brought them a healer?

Relief for that person's ailment is already contemplated in his or her karma. If karma allows for a cure or a relief then an only then it is possible for the person to have access to treatment. Think of all the millions of people who can't afford treatment or have never known os a way to cure themselves. Reiki practitioner is only a channel for mercy or part of this person's good karma.

Just my point of view I may be wrong

Apparently you're either just having fun with this or you don't understand karma. I'll assume the latter (knowing the joy of making assumptions... *w*): If the person's karma is to continue to suffer the illness, then the Reiki won't work, there is no "leftover karma".

Karma is the responsibility of the person or persons that created it . If a health issue is the result of of Karma and the the health issue is resolved then so too is the Karma for that issue to the degree that the health issue has been resolved .Nature is very specific and we deal only with the karma that we are responsible for. If the karma is deep then in right time the person will be given the opportunity to deal with whatever remains if any

Reiki healing will only be temporary if the person hasn't healed their karmic wound. The problem will come back as it lives in the auric field, and until it it resolved there, it will always manifest in the physical realm. Reiki practitioners help patients heal themselves, nothing more.

Karma is carried over to the next life--it doesn't happen in this one, so the point is moot
