With all the talk of Christmas and Jesus and Hannukah too......let's hear it for the rest of us.

I put up a tree for the season, as my husband loves it. It's not a no-no in Voodoo, as Voodoo as practiced in New Orleans is related to Catholism. We took it down last night. I am tired of the Christmas hoopla already. Can't wait to get back into studying my hoodoo/voodoo.

What is up with the rest of us alternative believers? Happy New Year and blessing to you all.

Hubby and I decorated the inside of our home. The decor will stay up until after our after-the-holidays party in two weeks.

We have a live Yule Tree, a small one. I'm thinking we'll get a cut tree next year (as well as have the live one), as I could only put around 1/5 of the ornaments I have onto the live one, and I like having the trunk and branches to burn at celebrations during thee rest of the year, to carry over the energy of Yule.

Speaking of which, I just found a pretty cool article on Yule Logs:

I'm a chaos mage, so I'm pretty equal-opportunity about religions. I usually cope with the Christmas hoopla by either going pagan (had a nice Norse-style Yule this year) or some degree of Catholic. Voodoo is one I hadn't thought about in that context before; maybe next year...

Yeah, we had a tree, it went down today, but it wasn't a Christmas tree. We are Old School. It was a Yule Tree. Chrisitans stole the tradition from the Germanic peoples a long time ago. Now the Xians get pissed if you don't wish them a Merry Christmas, but you should be saying Happy Yuletide.

Black Dragon - I love that song! Excellent!

My tree is about ready to come down too! I love Christmas. I grew up decorating the tree and waiting for Santa. My mom still signs her presents " from Santa"! LOL! And I do it to my 15 year old son too!

I walk the Red Road and am so thoroughly happy that there are all kinds of people who believe all kinds of different things. I only wish that all religions could respect and not put down another's religion or try to convert others.

I don't really know what you define as "alternative religous believer", but I'm an atheist. Atheism is an alternative religious philosophy to Christianity and Judaism.
