Why is it that every year, there is a rash of thefts involving nativity scenes at Christmas? What possess people to steal the baby Jesus each year. There is normally at least one story per state (if not more) of someone stealing Jesus off of someone's property or a church scene.

You never hear of anyone deflating the 8 foot tall manorah that's set out for Hannakah in December. No one steals or desecrates teh Star of David when it's hanging on lamp posts (they hang them around here next to frosty).

What possess people do this? I think it's wrong and disrespectful.

I didn't hear about the Santas or Frostys, but add them to the list. And a shopping center near me always puts out a huge manorah next to the nativity set.

I blame the same people who tip over tombstones in the cemetary

Well there have been a streak of "Santa" stealings (lighted and inflatable varities) Frosty stabbings (they stabbed the inflated snowman) and plastic reindeer robbings....I think its only a matter of time before our Jewish celebrants feel the brunt of the 'holiday spirit' as well.

Once again, you are WRONG and falsly crying PERSECUTION.

Try reading the news. This year, several inflatable Frosty the Snowman(s) were stabbed to death with screwdrivers by teenagers.... Do you stop for a moment and consider the poor beleivers in Frosty?

well first, ive never seen an 8foot tall manorah.

but they do deflate frosty the snoman and snowglobes out in peoples yard. its just mischeif made by teenagers who want to be "cool". they will grow up someday and realize these "daring" events are just immature and stupid.

It saddens me deeply that people steal the baby Jesus. I see no humor in it. And I am very easily amused!

I think it's mostly wannabe Satanists and/or wannabe Pagans (Playgans). No matter who it is--it's sad.

I think it's because Christians piss off a lot of other people. They make themselves a target. Especially when they try to put nativity scenes somewhere other than church grounds or private property.

A symptom of society's hate for Christianity and the message of love it represents. Evil doers love the dark, and the true Light is very distasteful to them, so they want no one to see it.
