One is LCD with 8 ms response. Not the best out there (Sharp and HP TVs have 6 ms response time), but pretty good.
The other one is plasma. Plasmas have NO issues with response time, that's why they never put it in the specs.
So, plasma is definitely better in terms of response, number of colors, contrast, etc.; however, you want the TV for gaming.
Plasmas are getting better with image retention (or burn in), but if your games have lots of static background and you plan to use it mostly for games than watching TV, then LCD could be a safer choice.
If you get the plasma, the first 200 hours are the most critical. Don't leave static images for long times and avoid watching TV in 4:3 mode.
200 hr to 1,000 hrs be somewhat careful. After 1000 hrs a plasma is as good in image retention as a CRT.

i couldnt say it better my self. good answer. i would go with the plasma the HPS for sure cause that model has the best f--kn picture i have ever seen in a plasma, oh and your eyes cant see much difference in responce time once it goes under 8ms, just slightly.so the fastest responce time is just a sales gimmic
