My wife is a tattooist and has been for over a decade. She has 12 tattoos in all ranging from small white tribals to partial sleeves. If you want to know the best and worse places, I can tell you that she would suggest this: Get a tattoo in an appropriate place for your personal lifestyle. If you are a businessperson that will have an effect on where you get your tattoos so you can show them when you want and they can be transparent when necessary. So good places are any place that the tattoo you like fits and will be displayed for the purpose you want. As far as bad places.. that's simple. Toes and fingers are bad because the tats don't hold well there for most people. If you want any kind of quality tattoo it isn't going to look good there. Also, beware of things like breasts and stomach if you plan to have kids any time after the tattoo. Stretch marks are one risk of pregnancy, but stretched tattoos can be another significant risk as well. Short hair that is styled to the wearer can make you look just as feminine or more so.

I'm long haired and attractive. I have quite a few tattoos. I'M A LESBIAN. Not sure what the hell any of that has to do with tattoos at all, dumb *** girl up there ^ I have a straight friend with short hair and more tattoos than I have, so what? If you want to get a tattoo, get it, feminine girl with strong personalities can pull anything off. It's the confidence to do what the **** you want that the RIGHT people find attractive. You don't sound confident in your choices and like you would be bothered by the small minded people who care too much about what other people do.

Personally I find tattoos on women to be quite a turn on. Like others have stated before be who you want to be. I guess the stereotype is that women are supposed to be pure and innocent and that any woman who has a tattoo or tattoos is loose or a biker chick. The problem is that other people who judge have no right to in the first place. Dont forget self confidence is attractive too.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. I personally think tattoos on women are beautiful and many tats are "feminine looking". I didn't know girls weren't suppposed to have tats. If thats the case I'm screwed. Short hair is cute on many women. U shouldn't be around the people telling u these things because there are many people out there that would disagree with these negative opinions including myself. I agree with the girl above....get your tat and rock your short hair with pride doll!!!

Take a deep breath, babe, and focus on what's important, which is you. I don't think there are good and bad places for girls to get ink as far as appearance. There are places that hurt less (buttocks, chest) or more (top of you foot, small of your back) then others but nothing horrifying. Mine are on my lower back, right hip, shoulder blades, and top of my left foot. I have never really heard anything about why a girl cannot have one but I suppose some may view it as trashy, low class, or risque but who cares what other people think? Really...I think ink on girls is incredibly hot. Short hair is not going to make you look like a man, darling. Lots of men think short hair is sexy on women. It makes you bold and you stand out among on the long haired gals in the world.

So my advice, get your tat, keep yoru hair short, and strut your stuff, dollface!

I have a tattoo on my breast (right over my heart) and one on the inside of my left ankle. I also have short hair, but I haven't had anyone mistake me for a man since I grew breasts.

In many world cultures, tattoos were not only not unusual for women, but quite commonplace. I had read an account of a geisha in pre-Meji era Japan who's tattoos was so beautifully done that when she was in the bath, the colors would change subtlely with the change in her skin temperature.

i have tattoos on my back, top of my foot & on my wrist. I dont agree with girls not supposed to have tattoos. That just stupid if someone told you that. I've also experimented w/short hair & I didnt look like a man. Many famous women have short hair. Look at Halle Berry...she's beautiful!!

If you're really determined to get a tattoo, then I would say a small one on the shoulder blade would probably be best because then you can hide it when the occasion deems appropriate. Most serious businesses do not like to hire people (especially women) that have visible tattoos. They do consider it unlady like, inappropriate, low class or trashy.

The thing with girls and tatts comes from our grandparents generation, they dont think its proper. I think any place is good for a tat I have one on my lower left back, chest and upper arm so far. Just put them in areas that can be covered so that you wont lose a good job to an idiot who wont hire chick wit tats :)
