This is hard, if you feel that the child will try and harm them self, you may want to take them to a local hospital and explain your concerns to them. or look in the front page of your phone book for mental health help line someone will contact you.just remember after the age of 17 in some states they are an adult and they can refuse treatment.

imik in tx and Sally C offer great advice. This is a really serious problem, but don't feel badly. It is also a very common one! You are not alone, and there is help out there for people with your problem. The best thing you can do is to talk to your parents, if you are comfortable doing so. The next best thing is to see a teacher, counselor, or the principal at your school. Don't stop asking adults until one listens and helps you! Eventually you will need to see a doctor regarding this, as you may well have a medical or psychological illness that can be treated through medication and therapy. Don't worry, though. It is not as horrible sounding as all that. These people will be happy to be able to help a brilliant kid like yourself who is smart enough to ask for help! Hang in there, and good luck!

join some new clubs, take up an instrument, these are all great ways of both meeting new people and of taking up youre time so your not on your own so much.
as for cutting if you dont want to get caught take care and do it in easily hidden places. avoid cutting too deep likewise. but most importantly try to stop before it gets too late. try holding ice if you need the release.
if things keep gettign worse regardless of your attempts to stop talk to some close trusted friends or family members. youd be suprised how understanding most people are. also you could talk to people who are experienceing the same feeklings as you over the interent or via helplines. such as the samaritans. again if this doesnt work see a psychatrist.
good luck

You can either go to someone in your school or you can just go to your parents and tell them how you've been feeling. just tell someone don't let it eat away at you. Get help. Good luck.
