The military doesn't recognize any holidays, much less a Remembrance Day. In the military you are on call 24/7, 365 days a year. As far as the government being off, ask a politician.

yes probably so..I was in the military when Lyndon Johnson passed away and the country declared a day of mourning. I remember because i was on duty at the time. Everyone else had the day off. Yes the military does recognize a day of mourning of an ex-president. Now am not referring to those in combat.

My daughter works for the Post office and she gets day of funeral off
